Neuronavigation: A CAS System for Neurosurgery

We describe our experience with neuronavigation in 140 operated cases. We propose the systematic use of MR for the operative imaging and describe our results concerning the precision of procedures as a function of models of markers. The study of postoperative MR shows best tumoral resection of infiltrating gliomas and a smaller injury for the cerebral parenchyma. The best system of neuro-navigation is that associating a good mechanical precision of the guiching system guidance to optical techniques for superimposition of contours in the operative microscope.
