Trends in physical properties of rocks in the eastern part of Soviet Central Asia

The results of a study of physical characteristics of the rock of Kirgizia, Tadzhik S.S.R. (without the Pamir), the Uzbek S. S. R. (without Ustyurt), and Kazakhstan (to the south of latitude 44°), in which four principal parameters — density, velocity, magnetic susceptibility, and electrical resistivity — were determined. Comparison of many different studies revealed the main trends in these parameters, which were correlated with basic geologic features of the rock.—C.E. Sears
