Time projection chambers for ultra-relativistic heavy-ion experiments with a mid-rapidity spectrometer

The design of Time Projection Chamber (TPC) detectors as tracking devices for the mid-rapidity spectrometer of the Broad Range Hadron Magnetic Spectrometers (BRAHMS) for use at the RHIC facility is presented.
