Abstract
- There has been a number of newer airway devices aimed to improve airway management for children. Cuffed tracheal tubes (TT), videolaryngoscopes (VLs) and supraglottic airways (SGAs) have all been used successfully in the clinical practice of pediatric anesthesia. The purpose of this review article is to present the current evidence regarding the use of the Microcuff TT, alternative devices for direct laryngoscopy (fiberoptic bronchoscopes and VLs) and newer SGAs (LMA Supreme, i-gel, and air-Q) in infants and children.
