Optimized terahertz generation in ZnTe crystals

Abstract: Optimal control of the output energy of terahertz wave generated by optical rectification in ZnTe crystals is reported. An enhancement by factor up to 2.4 is reported. Two-photon absorption and spectral phase effects on the THz generation efficiency are numerically investigated and discussed.
