Index Coding and Signal Detection in Precoded MIMO-OFDM Systems

Abstract
- The present work focuses on obtaining better Bit Error Rate performance (BER), in precoded Single User-Multiple Input, Multiple Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, SU-MIMO-OFDM systems in downlink through the use of Index Coding IC and a novel optimization procedure to select the Index Coding Matrix (ICM). A discrete model of the MIMO-OFDM system is presented which is efficient in signal generation and subsequent signal detection and identifies parameters that can be optimized, i.e, the optimal choice of the ICM, in order to improve the BER performance of the system.
