Abstract

This paper deals with spark phenomena in the ignitable mixture gas including 6% hydrogen not only from a CFRP specimen with a fastener in the lightning strike test where the compound current waveforms of “Component A, B and C” were used, but also from an electrode gap system in the 200uJ voltage spark test, which were observed by a novel optical system with PMTs, optical fibers, digital cameras and a spectroscope. We investigated the relationship between spark generation and explosion, i.e. ignition, based on the measured optical signals, especially the time integral value of the spark light emission intensity Lint that derives the spark energy.
