Abstract

In this study, we designed a current sensor based on fluxgate principle. It consists of two coils wound around toroidal ring core from amorphous cobalt-based Metglass 2714A ribbon. Good linearity between the magnitude of measured DC current and the value of second harmonic (2f) voltage induced by the pick-up coil has been observed. Noise level of 46 µA/√Hz at 1 Hz and scale factor of 149 mV/A have been achieved in the developed sensor configuration under specific excitation conditions. In this study, we designed a current sensor based on fluxgate principle.
