Abstract
- A novel vision technology to measure the middle-ranged depth with a camera and a plane mirror is proposed. In the image sequence which is taken from a rotating mirror, the speed of pixel movement is higher at the distant objects and slower at the near ones. Utilizing such phenomenon, a new depth measurement scheme is developed and its principle has been investigated. The simpler hardware requirement, the easiness of the pixel matching and the high speed of measurement capability are the advantages of the proposed scheme over the conventional image-based depth measurement technologies. Experimental results are included in this paper.
