Abstract

A computerized system that we designed allowed the fast tracing of the pedigree of cultured Euphorbia millii cells. We obtained two distinct outputs for which the parentage of the cells were printed. These outputs were obtained by two distinct search routines; one traced the pedigree from ancestry, and the other traced the pedigree from progeny. These outputs proved that pedigree tracing is useful for genetic studies of repetitive selection of cultured E. millii cells that produce high levels of anthocyanin.
