The Wood Pellet Business in Finland

Finland is a leading country on European wood pellet markets. Wood pellet production volumes in the country have increased steadily during the last decades. The aim of this paper is to present an overview of the current status of the Finnish wood pellet business. The paper identifies the main pellet producers by region and volume and describes domestic demand for wood pellets. The paper is based on a review of published scientific literature, latest Finnish official documents and country reports. The paper contributes to greater understanding of the Finnish pellet business.
