Abstract
- This article reports on work conducted at Nottingham University to investigate the utility and efficacy of selected knowledge elicitation (KE) techniques. The experimental approach taken to this research is advanced as a necessary and essential part of the process of coming to understand how to make acquisition more tractable. We discuss the results of our work and possible implications for programmes of acquisition. We also describe the assumptions implicit in our work and the attendant caveats that have to be borne in mind.
