Preservação e suspensão da fáscia de Scarpa na abdominoplastia

SUMMARY Background: Many studies have been done in the quest for a safer, lower risk and more attractive abdominoplasty. Techniques and tactical approach may vary and few are said about preservation and suspension of Scarpa’s fascia. Methods: This retrospective report presents our experience with lipoabdominoplasty along with preservation and suspension of Scarpa’s fascia in 235 cases, over the past five years. Most patients had massive weight loss and were submitted to multiple operations. Results: Complication rate related directly to abdominoplasty with suspension of Scarpa’s fascia was low (5.9%) and the technique resulted in nice and smooth contour. Complications and favorable contour outcome are detailed in this study. Conclusion: Abdominal contour procedures with Scarpa’s suspension promotes a nice silhouette, promotes better accommodation for the abdominal flap and takes up tension of the groin region.
