Abstract
- The theory of geothermal heat extraction is discussed on the basis of three simple idealized models, that is, (1) single fracture flow, (2) intergranular flow and (3) intergranular vaporization models. Theoretical expressions for the total available specific resource energy per unit area or unit volume are given. These results are illustrated by a number of numerical data which are useful in the assessment of the potential of individual geothermal resources.
