ION AND ELECTRON TEMPERATURE EVOLUTION IN PLASMA OF CURRENT SHEETS FORMED BY KRYPTON DISCHARGE

The temperature evolution of singly and doubly charged krypton ions in current sheets formed in magnetic fields with an X-line is studied. The electron temperature is determined; it is shown to be lower than the ion temperature by an order of magnitude, which points to different heating mechanisms of ion and electron components of current sheet plasma.
