Abstract
- David Chandler and Jonathan Pugh’s (2021) article proposes a new critical research agenda to examine how islands are being mobilized as central sites of the Anthropocene. In that vein, this commentary proposes that islands are central to the Anthropocene not only as sites of relational entanglement but of disentanglement as well. Delinking island territories produced by separating from networks and processes deemed harmful represents an important area for future critical research.
