Abstract
- It is known that advance generation four reactor technology such as the pebble bed high temperature reactors raises challenges for the regulatory body so that the technology can be developed and constructed. Although some countries have successfully constructed High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor (HTGR), however, the licensing still a challenging and open issues due to unclear and unavailable off-the-self detail regulation for this type reactor. Therefore, the investigation of the licensing issues to anticipate the implementation technology is urgently required. This study is carried out by presenting the current status of licensing experiences in German, China, South Africa, Japan as well as the current status of NPP licensing in Indonesia. This paper disused and delivers some recommendations to address the gaps or issues identified. It is known that advance generation four reactor technology such as the pebble bed high temperature reactors raises challenges for the regulatory body so that the technology can be developed and constructed.
