Abstract

In the psychosomatic approach to human reproduction, we think it necessary to take into account some general characteristics intrinsic to this function in its continuum and/or to particulars relative to some moments of it, apart from individual, environmental and social factors. Therefore, we must take into consideration: a) The biological significance of reproduction in the general economy of the individual and the natural behavior and specific mechanisms of the different aspects of this function. b) The homeostatic characteristics of the function itself (automatisms, autoregulation). c) The homeostatic characteristics between the reproductive function and the individual (high level and at-risk functions). d) The homeostatic characteristics between the environment and the individual during reproduction. e) Relationships between natural and artificial reproduction and its control, and specific emotionalities.
