Abstract
- We study the stability of a bipolaron as a function of the strength of the Coulomb interaction in conjugated polymers. While strong Coulomb interactions will destabilize the bipolaron, we find impurities and image forces tend to stabilize it, which implies that bipolarons may be important for charge injection at polymer-metal interfaces in the organic LEDs.
