Abstract

Concentrations of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and novel brominated flame retardants (NBFRs) in the atmosphere of Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, were investigated. Passive air samples were collected for eight consecutive one-year periods from August 2011 to August 2019 at seven Arctic sampling sites. High-resolution gas chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC-HRMS) and gas chromatography coupled with election capture negative ionization mass spectrometry (GC-NCI-MS) were employed for PBDE and NBFR analysis, respectively.
