Abstract

Element base replacement is a generally accepted trend in the modernization of surface-to-air missile systems and their components. At the same time, the systems modernization may be accompanied by an expansion of their functionality. Promising in this aspect is the replacement of indication blocks of surface-to-air systems, which were developed at the end of the XX century, with modern multifunctional indicators. The urgency of this replacement is due to the fact that the main element of existing indicators are monochrome electronic tubes (high cost of production, industrial enterprises have long ceased production of these products), their operation requires special modes, which are implemented using a large number of related electronic devices (specialized high-voltage transformers, voltage multipliers, etc.), stocks of electronic tubes and related devices that are part of the indicator units of surface-to-air missile systems in spare parts sets are not replenished for many years, their purchase is complicated by the fact that such surface-to-air missile systems are available only in Russian Federation or countries loyal to it, due to the gradual depletion of stocks of the above devices from the spare parts sets of surface-to-air missile systems, the need to urgently seek options for their replacement is only a matter of time. Substantiation of propositions for improving the indication systems of anti- surface-to-air missile systems is a necessary step towards the modernization of these systems. Modern development of technologies allows to significantly improve ergonomic properties and expand the functionality of indicator systems. First of all, it is to improve the perception of the displayed standard information and bring additional information to the indicator without increasing its size due to the use of color displays. Secondly, in the absence of the need for combat operations, the indicator can be additionally used as a monitor of the optoelectronic surveillance system (detection of unmanned aerial vehicles, ground protection of batteries positions), a means of displaying interactive electronic operational documentation to improve information support in combat readiness, a module for conducting tactical calculations using a set of specialized information and calculation tasks, etc. The article emphasizes that when creating an indicator device on a new element base, it is necessary to consider the hardware and software components of this process. The characteristics of each component are given. Taking into account the characteristics of signals that take place in the indication blocks of surface-to-air systems, which are using in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an approximate list of modern basic elements of the modernized indicator device is determined. In addition, it is noted that the implementation of the proposed approach in addition to the main positive effect will reduce the number of settings, adjustments of units of indication systems (this will reduce the number of operations during maintenance and, consequently, their duration), reduce the range of spare parts set (different units with the same type of hardware but different software), to improve the performance characteristics of the units of the indication system (due to the better reliability of modern devices compared to those elements used in surface-to-air missile systems).
