Review: Petia Genkova & Andrea E. Abele (Hrsg.) (2008). Lernen und Entwicklung im globalen Kontext. 'Heimliche Lehrpläne' und Basiskompetenzen

Der Sammelband thematisiert Aspekte/Folgen der Globalisierung in Bezug auf die Berufswelt. Wie kann Frauen Chancengleichheit zuteil und ihnen eine entsprechende Berufskarriere ermöglicht werden? Wie können Beschäftigte eines Unternehmens bei Firmenzusammenschlüssen in den Veränderungsprozessen unterstützt werden? Wie kann durch Institutionen hervorgebrachten Krisen junger Menschen begegnet werden? Wie kann Gewalt bei Kindern und Jugendlichen vorgebeugt werden? In dem von Petia GENKOVA und Andrea E. ABELE herausgegebenen Sammelband gehen die Autorinnen und Autoren diesen Fragen in 17 Beiträgen nach. Diese sind in vier Kapitel untergliedert: "Mitarbeiterinnen und Karriere – ein schwieriges Kapitel? Neue Erfahrungen und Perspektiven", "Verankerung und Veränderung von Mustern der Sozialisation", "Selbstsozialisation als Erwerb von Basiskompetenzen" sowie "Diversity und Politische Kultur". Nach einer Einführung zu den Inhalten und Konzepten des Sammelbandes mit Angaben zu den Autorinnen und Autoren erfolgt eine kurze Darstellung zu "heimlichen Lehrplänen" in Zeiten der Globalisierung. Anschließend werden dem Aufbau des Sammelbandes folgend die einzelnen Beiträge kurz kommentiert. Hervorhebenswert ist, dass in dem Band viele Themen und Konzepte im Hinblick auf Globalisierung dargestellt werden und innovative, handlungsorientierte Methoden zum Einsatz kommen, wenngleich sich die qualitativen Verfahren eher auf geläufige Ansätze wie teilnehmende Beobachtung und Expert/inneninterviews beschränken. Die Schwäche des Bandes liegt vor allem darin, dass sich die Konzepte aufgrund ihrer komplexen und sprachlich abstrakten Darstellung nicht immer für Lesende unmittelbar erschließen. This anthology addresses globalization with regard to the world of work. How can women pursue their career and enjoy equal opportunities in the labor market? How can employees be supported during the process of company acquisition? How can the existential crises of young adults that were triggered through institutional work experiences be met and coped with? How can violence among children and adolescents be prevented? Seventeen contributions in Petia GENKOVA's and Andrea E. ABELE's anthology provide answers to these questions. There are four chapters focusing on: 1. female employees and their career, 2. patterns of socialization, 3. self-socialization as a means of gaining basic competencies, and 4. diversity and political culture. A short description of the meaning of a hidden curriculum in times of globalization follows an introduction to the contents of the book and information about the authors. All articles included are then commented upon. It should be noted that the anthology contains a variety of themes and aspects regarding globalization as well as innovative and interactive research methods, although the qualitative methods applied are limited to participative observation and expert interviews. The weakness of the anthology is that due to the complex and abstract linguistic usage, the concepts have not been made sufficiently accessible and straightforward. Esta antología apunta a la globalización en relación con el mundo del trabajo. ¿Cómo pueden las mujeres ejercer su carrera y disfrutar de las mismas oportunidades en el mercado laboral? ¿Cómo pueden ser apoyados los empleados durante el proceso de adquisición de la compañía? ¿Cómo pueden reunirse y enfrentarse las crisis existenciales de los jóvenes adultos que han sido provocadas por experiencias de trabajo institucional? ¿Cómo puede prevenirse la violencia entre niños y adolescentes? Diecisiete contribuciones en la antología de Petia GENKOVA y Andrea E. ABELE brindan respuesta a estas preguntas. Hay cuatro capítulos dedicados a: 1. Las mujeres empleadas y sus carreras, 2. Patrones de socialización, 3. Auto-socialización como medio de ganar competencias básicas y, 4. Diversidad y cultura política. Una breve descripción del significado de currículum oculto en tiempos de globalización, sigue a una introducción a los contenidos del libro e información acerca de los autores. Todos los artículos incluidos son comentados. Debe observarse que la antología contiene una variedad de temas y aspectos referentes a la globalización así como a métodos de investigación innovadores e interactivos. Aunque los métodos cualitativos aplicados se limitan a la observación participante y entrevista a expertos. La debilidad de esta antología es que dado lo complejo y lo abstracto de los usos lingüísticos, los conceptos no son lo suficientemente accesibles y sencillos.
