Abstract
- In this work we determined the effect of sowing date in the performance of pea plant under agro climatic conditions of shinkiari , Mansehra during 2014. Kaghan Hybrid of pea plant was selected .The experimental design was (RCBD) with seven replications and four date of sowings (treatments). These different dates were 1st September 2014, 11th September 2014, 21st September 2014 and 1st October 2014. Different date of sowing showed different results under same agro-climatic conditions of Shinkiari, Mansehra . The overall results showed that T2 2nd date of sowing took maximum days to germination (18.57), T3 3rd date of sowing took maximum days to flowering (37.86), T3 3rd date of sowing took maximum days to pods formation (48.14),T1 1st date of sowing showed maximum no. of pods/plant (4.943), T1 showed maximum pod length (5.186) ,Maximum No. of grains/pod (6.359) was obtained in T1, Maximum plant height (24.05) was obtained in T2, Maximum grain yield (kg/plot) 1st picking (2.240) was observed in T2 and T1 showed maximum grain yield ( kg/ plot ) (2.522) 2nd picking. Based on the findings of this experiment it is therefore concluded that the first ten days of September are most suitable time to get maximum pea yield when grown under agro climatic conditions of Shinkiari, Mansehra.<br />Moroccan Journal of Chemistry, Vol 3, No 4 (2015)
