Abstract
- Heavy ions with mass A and E A ∼ 120 MeV have been identified in the focal plane of a magnetic spectrometer by means of a simple telescope made of two slabs of plastic scintillator. The method should be applicable up to A ∼ 20 in mass and down to E A ∼ 50 MeV in energy per nucleon.
