Abstract
- 1 Indoramin and methyldopa were compared in a randomized controlled double blind trial of 89 patients who continued to be hypertensive after 3 weeks' baseline treatment with a diuretic. 2 The antihypertensive effect of indoramin was significant and similar to that of methyldopa. Although an α-receptor blocking drug, indoramin did not lead to cumulation, postural hypotension or reflex tachycardia. Side-effects were few and comparable with methyldopa.
