Abstract
- A CT scanner has been used to measure liver enhancement with two liver-directed contrast media, iodipamide and iosulamide, in dogs. The results following slow, and rapid infusions suggested increased liver retention of iosulamide while with iodipamide enhancement appeared to be mainly a function of blood iodine concentration. An increase in CT number of around 15 EMI units above blood was observed with iosulamide in delayed scans following rapid infusion. Thus there may be a potential for specific enhancement of normal liver tissue with iosulamide.
