Abstract

Pseudanthias squamipinnis (Peters 1855) ���Sea goldie Taxonomy. Single record from Lebanon as Pseudanthias squamipinnis (Peters 1855) by Bitar (2013: 592). This record is based on two pictures taken underwater in Beirut (June 2000). The species has never been observed or collected in the Mediterranean afterwards. Distribution. Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, South Africa, Persian Gulf, Socotra, Madagascar, Al- dabra and western Mascarenes east to Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to Western Australia, New Caledonia, Lord Howe Island and Tonga. Conservation. IUCN: Global (LC: 12 March 2015). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare.
