Open label multicenter study of once weekly Etanercept 0.8 mg/kg in active polyarticular Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)

Methods At each study site an independent ethics committee approved the protocol, and each patient's parent gave written informed consent (EudraCT No. 2007-00025534). 20 patients 4 to 17 years old were included and received 0.8 mg/kg bw. of etanercept subcutaneously once weekly for 12 weeks "Active" polyarticular disease was defined by the presence of five or more active joints. PedACR30/50/70 criteria were calculated.
