Abstract: 28. Gynura maclurei Merr. (Asteraceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(4): 355. 1922. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan, Wuzhi Shan, alt. 750 m, 21 December 1921, F. A. McClure 2134 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 8588) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00008618 image!, NY 00178883 image!). Merrill (1922a) validly published the name Gynura maclurei Merr. with only one gathering, McClure 8588, cited in the protologue.
