ECOS DE SARAJEVO EN EL DESIERTO: REPRESENTACIONES E IMPACTOS DEL ESTALLIDO DE LA GRAN GUERRA EN TACNA Y ARICA (1914)

espanolA pesar de las conmemoraciones de su centenario, la Primera Guerra Mundial o Gran Guerra sigue marginal en la historiografia latinoamericana -particularmente en Chile- y ha sido abordada generalmente desde una perspectiva nacional. El objetivo de este articulo es analizar los impactos y las representaciones en Tacna y Arica acerca del estallido de este conflicto en 1914, dejando en evidencia que este se hizo sentir tempranamente en la vida cotidiana tacnoariquena, con repercusiones significativas en la region. EnglishDespite the commemorations of its Century, the First World War or Great War is still at the margin of the Latin-American histo riography -in Chile particularly- and has been generally studied from a national point of view. This work analyzes Tacna and Arica discourses' and representations about the outbreak of the war in 1914, demonstrating that this conflict had an early and significant impact on the everyday existence of the Tacna-Arica population with particular effects in the region.
