Abstract

An 80-year-old man with a history of diabetes mellitus and ypertension, presented with worsening generalized pruritic erupion on his trunk and extremities for 2 weeks. Physical examination evealed widespread erythematoscaly plaques involving 80–90% of he total body surface (Fig. 1). There was no history of atopy or past iver disease. The patient had been treated with oral antihistamines nd topical corticosteroid with slight improvement. Laboratory results showed slight peripheral eosinophilia 676/ L) and alanine aminotransferase of 57 U/L. The scabies reparation and antinuclear antibody were negative. Lesional skin iopsy demonstrated parakeratosis, hyperkeratosis and spongiosis n the epidermis, together with mild dermal perivascular inflamatory cell infiltrate.
