Abstract
- A 63 year old man was admitted during a haemolytic crisis. A direct Coomb’s test was positive and a non-specific agglutinin detected. Bone marrow biopsy showed erythroid hyperplasia with megaloblastic crythropoiesis. Treatment with blood transfusion, antibiotics, intravenous hydrocortisone and oral prednisolone was followed by a reversion of crythropoiesis to normoblastic and a rise in the haemoglobin to a normal level. Biopsy of a lymph node revealed features of Hodgkin’s disease.
