Abstract
- Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) is the rare subtype of agerelated macular degeneration (AMD), which is hard to diagnose and it is resistant to standard anti-VEGF treatment of AMD. The morphological base of PCV is the pathology of choroid vessels with formation of expansions on their ends – polyps. This literature review presented a current conception of the prevalence, risk factors, pathogenesis, diagnostic techniques and the main treatment approaches of this disease.
