Abstract
- Heterothrips peixotoa Del-Claro, Marullo & Mound, 1997 This species is unusual in having largely pale fore wings (Fig. 58), with a small but distinctive brown area at the extreme apex (Fig. 55). The head lacks ocellar setae pair I (Fig. 56) and the abdominal tergites are covered with fine microtrichia laterally and bear a fringe of independent long microtrichia posteriorly. The males have large transverse pore plates on abdominal sternites VII���VIII. This species is found commonly on several Malpighiaceae species, and is widespread in the Brazilian savannah. Material examined. Paratype female, Brazil, Minas Gerais, Uberl��ndia, 14.vii. 1995, on Peixotoa tomentosa flowers (K. Del-Claro); Bahia, Ibicoara, iv. 2002, 8 females, 11 males on ���native plants��� (O. Feiler); S��o Paulo, Mogi-Gua��u, 25.ix. 2007, 1 female, 1 male on Peixotoa flowers (A.
