Abstract
- The paper overviews the performances of the HF radar network installed in the northern Adriatic Sea. The system architecture is designed to work in real-time and delayed modes, but the accent is given on the real-time data acquisition, processing, archiving and presenting on the web. Several minor and the major dropout of the system were reported in 2008, and the surface currents were available for 87% of the year. The measured data needs just several minutes after the measurements to appear on the web, which makes the system plausible for the rapid environmental assessment issues, such as oil spills, rescue missions and other.
