Abstract: Ecsenius portenoyi Springer, USNM 364017 (9 specimens), Wallis Islands, Ile Uvea, 13��23��95�� S, 176��14��15�� W. The additional character given by Springer and Randall (1999:42) to distinguish E. portenoyi from E. pardus McKinney & Springer is erroneous. It should read, ��The interspace between the first and second or second and third spots in E. pardus is equal to or more than1.5 X the diameter of one of the spots, whereas in E. portenoyi it is almost always less than the diameter of any of the three spots.��<br />Published as part of Victor G.
