Abstract

C3–C7 en block laminoplasty (cervical laminoplasty) has been widely performed for cervical spondylotic myelopathy, cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) and other diseases of the cervical spine [1]. In our department, we have performed cervical laminoplasty according to Itoh’s method, and we have had satisfactory results to date [2]. Adjacent segment disease has hardly ever been seen after cervical laminoplasty as this method preserves the range of motion (ROM) of the cervical spine. To our knowledge, only two cases of T1/T2 stenosis following cervical laminoplasty have been reported [3, 4]. Here, we report a case of T1/T2 stenosis following cervical laminoplasty and the long-term results of T1–T3 laminoplasty for this lesion.
