Abstract

Trajectory calculations for an alpha-particle inside and outside the fission nucleus236U were used to simulate the alpha-accompanied fission of the system235U+n. The model was developed in two dimensions and the energy conservation condition was fulfilled. It was possible in this way to describe the emission process qualitatively. It was also shown that the calculation of such internal trajectories represents a sensitive method to obtain information about the configuration of the neck region of a fissioning nucleus.
