Figure S1: Separation of the strike cycles into 3 phases, based on the vertical displacement of a reflective marker fixed on the 5th metacarpal bone: up-swing (highlighted in blue), down-swing (yellow) and analysis phase (green). Custom Matlab routines were used to automatically and consistently identify the peaks and valleys.
