Abstract

The current context of crisis, change and globalization in which we live is also characterized by a real crisis within the field of ethics; this explains why we can observe an increasing social demand that requires from the educational institutions and teachers to deal with the moral training of students. Uncertainty and plurality could be the two main words that define the current situation of values in the world, and this makes very difficult to lay down which values should direct the training of a citizen-to-be. This paper pro- vides a new approach to the moral dimension in edu- cation based on the distinction between ethics as struc- ture and ethics as contents and on the conviction that it is necessary to build a change not only within the ethical approach to education, but also within the approach to ethical education.
