Abstract
- The deoxyribonucleic acids of 70 hyphomicrobia were examined at equilibrium in neutral CsCl density gradients. The guanine plus cytosine (%G+C) content was estimated to range from 59.2 to 66.8% G+C. The strains could be divided into three groups with different base composition of their DNA; 61.0±1.1%, 64.1±0.6%, and 66.5±0.6% G+C. The values are compared with those for the base composition of DNA of a number of phototrophic, budding bacteria.
