Primaquine or tafenoquine for preventing malaria in people travelling to or living in endemic areas

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: 1. To assess the effectiveness of primaquine and tafenoquine for primary prophylaxis againstPlasmodium vivax andPlasmodium falciparum infections. 2. To assess the effectiveness of tafenoquine for terminal prophylaxis of vivax malaria. 3. To compare the safety profile and compliance rates of tafenoquine and primaquine when used for primary (P. vivax and P. falciparum infections) and terminal (P. vivax infections) prophylaxis.
