- Graphical abstract<br />Highlights • Quadricuspid aortic valve is a rare finding in patients with aortic valvulopathy. • Patients over age 40 with this finding are more likely to have valve dysfunction. • Transesophageal echocardiogram is preferred to evaluate quadricuspid aortic valves.
