Abstract
- Mantidactylus biporus clade A species-rich, diverse and probably not monophyletic group, containing species characterized by a mostly rather small body size (20.5–35.8 mm adult SVL), short and rounded snout, and typically stout body shape with short hindlimbs. Species in this group often have scattered white spots, especially on flanks and laterally on the head. Contains: M. biporus and five new species, described based on holotypes depicted in Fig. 62. Note that several other species previously thought to be related to M. biporus (or reported to be morphologically similar), are assigned to the M. ulcerosus clade (M. schulzi and M. steinfartzi; see above), and to the M. inaudax and M. stelliger clades (see respective accounts below). One of the new species named in the following (M. bletzae sp. nov.) is not included in the phylogenomic tree, and its relationships are not reliably resolved in the 16S tree.
