WC Li; Chongqing : 1♀, Mt. Laosimian, Simianshan, 1280 m, 13.VII.2012, leg. YH Sun & AH Yin, slide No. GW 12244; 1♀, Tudiyan, Simianshan, 1200 m, 15.VII.2012, leg. YH Sun & AH Yin, slide No. GW 12243; 1♀, Mt. Jinfu, 800 m, 18.VIII.2014, leg. XF Yang, slide No. GW15203. Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished by the lemon yellow forewing with silvery grey and dark ochreous brown markings; in the male genitalia by the cucullus truncate at apex and the anellar lobes elongately clubbed; in the female genitalia by the ductus seminalis with several denticles at apex. It is similar to S. ochricolorata sp. nov., and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species. Description. Adult (Fig. 12). Wingspan 9.0– 11.5 mm. Head silvery white, with metallic lustre, occiput ochreous. Labial palpus cream white on inner surface; second segment pale yellow on outer surface, with a small black dot at joint of first and second segments on outer surface; third segment pale yellowish brown on outer surface. Antenna with scape silvery white, ochreous yellow on posterior margin; flagellum pale yellow, annulated with brown. Thorax lemon yellow, with two longitudinal parallel black streaks in posterior half; tegula pale ochreous yellow in anterior half, pale ochreous in posterior half. Forewing lemon yellow; costal margin dark ochreous brown along basal 2/3, with a dark ochreous brown fascia from distal 1/5 obliquely inward to ventral margin; dark ochreous brown streak along fold; elliptical dark silvery grey spot at base above and beneath fold respectively, edged with ochreous; cell with an elliptical silvery grey spot at basal 1/3, with dark ochreous brown streak along distal 2/3 of anterior and posterior margins respectively; fringe pale ochreous yellow around apex, brown on ventral margin. Hindwing greyish brown, fringe grey. Fore tibia purplish brown on outer side, cream white on inner side, tarsus pale ochreous brown; midleg cream white, tibia with pale ochreous yellow bristles, tarsus black at apex; hindleg ochreous yellow dorsally, cream white ventrally, tibia ringed with long ochreous yellow bristles at apex, pale yellow between medium and distal spurs, tarsus annulated with black and bearing short ochreous yellow bristles at apices of basal three tarsomeres. Abdomen yellowish brown on dorsal surface, cream white on ventral surface; terminal segment silvery white in male, pale ochreous yellow in female. Male genitalia (Fig. 25). Uncus wide at base, gradually narrowed to basal 3/4, parallel from distal 1/4 to straight apex, with long setae laterally. Gnathos broad lingulate, distal half with dense transverse crumples on dorsal surface, triangular in lateral view, apex hooked ventrad. Tegumen with height approximately twice length of uncus. Valva sub-rectangular; cucullus sub-quadrate, truncate at apex; inner process slender, curved inward near base by a right angle; sacculus approximately 5/6 length of valva, concave at basal 2/5 of ventral margin, rounded and free from cucullus apically. Vinculum narrowly banded; saccus U-shaped, approximately 1/5 length of uncus. Juxta pointed anteromedially; anellar lobes elongately clubbed, narrowly rounded apically, approximately twice length of juxta, with long setae. Aedeagus approximately 1.3 times length of valva, basal half almost uniformly wide, with a sclerotized plate near base, distal half gradually narrowed to apex; distal process fusiform, 3/10 length of aedeagus; cornutus consisting of a tuft of small spicules ranging from basal 1/5 to 3/5. Female genitalia (Fig. 38). Intersegmental membrane between papillae anales and eighth abdominal segment approximately twice length of papillae anales. Apophyses posteriores approximately 1.5 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth segment straight on posterior margin, with long setae; eighth tergite with anterior margin concave in V shape medially, eighth stenite produced anteriorly. Antrum bowl-shaped, concave on posterior margin, with numerous longitudinal crumples. Ductus bursae broad, approximately half length of corpus bursae, gradually widened toward corpus bursae, with 13 denticles in transition of ductus bursae and corpus bursae. Corpus bursae elongate elliptical; with two filiform signa, each serrate on posterior margin, larger one approximately three times length of smaller one. Ductus seminalis originating from posterior part of corpus bursae, elongate tubular, slightly widened at basal 1/3 and 2/3, with several short denticles at apex. Distribution. China (Chongqing, Fujian, Guangxi, Zhejiang); Vietnam. Notes. This species is newly recorded for China.
Published as part of Wang, Ailing, Wang, Shuxia & Guan, Wei, 2021, Genus Stathmopoda Herrich-Schäffer, 1853 (Lepidoptera: Stathmopodidae) from China: Descriptions of ten new species, pp. 451-472 in Zootaxa 4908 (4) on pages 463-464, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4908.4.1, http://zenodo.org/record/4446963
{"references":["Sinev, S.
