Abstract

The recently published BRIDGE guidelines shine light on research integrity and research fairness and provide a practical tool to support researchers embarking on an epidemiological study. The guidelines were developed through a Delphi consultation process and represent an ideal behaviour global health epidemiologists may aspire to. However, there is currently very little evidence andquantification of the prevalence of these behaviours in global health. To better understand and address potential issues related to research fairness and research integrity, researchers at KIT Royal Tropical Institute (Amsterdam, Netherlands)and KEMHRC (Pune, India) have designed a study to investigate these issues. The aim is to quantify the prevalence of questionable and unfair research practices in a sample of global health researchers. This document describes the study protocol of the Research Integrity and Research Fairness Survey. Data collection tools are provided in the Annexes.Ethical review has been requested by two lead implementing institutes involved in the study: the KIT Research Ethics Committee, KEM Hospital Research Centre Ethics Committee. Permission was granted by both committees, as evidenced by approval letters also uploaded here.&nbsp
