Abstract

The effects of a low-energy charge-exchange process between hydrogenlike ions and neutral hydrogen on x-ray spectra of He-like argon ions from the Alcator C tokamak are investigated. Dependences of charge-exchange cross sections on both the principal and angular momentum quantum numbers n and l are estimated from the observed spectra, taking cascade effects into account with the use of a collisional radiative model.
