Abstract
- From its inception, the Internet was not intended as the worldwide universal communication platform. It has developed over almost four decades to its current state. As a result of this unplanned evolution, we currently witness scalability problems, increased complexity, missing modularity as well as missing flexibility for emerging services. In this report we focus on two selected issues: the changing routing paradigm and edge-based intelligence. We will then present a variety of projects on Future Internet and finally assess recently established experimental facilities and their role in the Future Internet design.
