Abstract: 4-Oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothianaphthene(I) is converted into racemic A-nor-3-thiaestra-1,5(10),6,8,14-pentaen-17(e)-01(IX) and A-nor-3-thiaestra-1,5(10),8,14-tetraen-17(e)-01 (VIII).
