Abstract: We present the case of a 47-year-old immunocompetent patient with clinical evidence of pulmonary mycobacterial disease which was found to be due to Mycobacterium triplex. This novel organism is an uncommon, emerging, pathogen for which few reports of clinical infection exist in the medical literature.
